[EDIT: Ana Marina is open, but only to Vietnamese. They still need approval from the government to accept berthing from foreigners. Approval is expected by 2023. Please confirm with official sources.]
The marina at Nha Trang has opened to Sailboats. You can now travel to Vietnam by Sailboat. This is a big deal. Here’s what I know about Sailboat travel to Vietnam.
Vietnam is open to sailboats but only Vietnamese. AnaMarina is Vietnam’s first, and so far, only sailboat marina. Berths are available for up to 110 yachts and there are plans to grow large enough for 220 yachts. AnaMarina is an efficient design that meets international standards and is planned for a life span of at least 50 years.
You can enjoy everything from jet-skis to super yachts. AnaMarina is Vietnam’s first non-commercial marina and it meets international marina standards. AnaMarina is Vietnam’s first marina for sailboats. This page is about Nha Trang and the new harbor, AnaMarina. Please see this page for more information on travel within Vietnam.
AnaMarina Harbor Marina
The harbor is provide sheltered by two breakwaters and includes a full view of the open sea. This design minimizes the disturbances while providing easy access. Berths range from 10 meters up to 100 meters and extra-wide berths for catamarans. This is great news to sailors around the world that have previously wanted to visit Vietnam.
AnaMarina Berths
The berths are a piled, floating, concrete pontoon system. Services includes pedestals for water and electricity on the pontoons. To request a berth, please visit the AnaMarina Berth request page.
Sailing to Vietnam
There are marinas in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries in Southeast Asia, except Vietnam – until now. You will need a visa, probably a tourist visa. You will need to contact the marina to give them the details of your boat, registration, insurance and more.
Vietnam Marina Website
Specifically, they want your sailboat registration documents, the length of your stay, and visa information. I recommend that you email Mr. Hung (pronounced “Hum”): Marina.mgr2@anamarina.com, the Marina manager for further information. You can also contact Ana Marina by phone by calling Mr. Duy +84 94 4708008. (Probably pronounced like “Huey”.)
I don’t speak Vietnamese. I recommend you listen to Google Translate for pronunciations of Vietnamese names.
Their website is AnaMarina.com.
